Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and human metapneumovirus (hMPV)

RSV and hMPV vaccine research study

Qualified participants can earn up to $800 in compensation for time and travel. Refer a friend or family to this research study and receive $100.

RSV and hMPV are highly contagious viruses that cause common cold-like symptoms, as well as serious illness in older adults, such as bronchitis and pneumonia. Currently, there are no approved vaccines for hMPV or a combined RSV/hMPV vaccine. An effective combination vaccine could reduce illness and death from these viruses in older adults.

Additionally, having one vaccine for both viruses would make it easier and faster for healthcare providers to administer.

The goal of this study is to research a potential new (investigational) vaccine to see if it is safe and whether it works to prevent 2 respiratory illnesses.

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and human metapneumovirus (hMPV) cause:

  • common cold-like symptoms
  • serious illness in older adults, such as bronchitis and pneumonia.

You may be able to take part if you:

  • are 60 years of age or older
  • agree to attend study site visits.
