Hypercholesterolemia means you have high cholesterol in your blood.
Cholesterol is a type of fat your body needs, but too much of it—especially “bad” cholesterol (LDL)—can build up in your arteries. Over time, this can increase your risk of heart attack, stroke, and heart disease.
